from flourishing to decomposition

Engaging with the full range of being—from flourishing to decomposition—Kate’s work asks a vital question: How do we tend to our longing for belonging?

Bridging ancestral skills with contemporary art, Kate explores ways of stitching herself to the fabric of the generations that came before her & the landscapes that expand beyond her.

Herbal medicine-making, harvesting roadkill, hide-tanning, tablet weaving, & shoemaking are integral parts of her multi-disciplinary practice that includes papermaking, bookbinding, printmaking, writing, singing & more.

Her work touches the vital edge bridging the expanse between life & death, courting the mythic muse & the ephemeral song of each place, each being, each moment.

“Dying / Is an art, like everything else” — Sylvia Plath
